Go GOLD for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Dear P.S. 5 families,
This Thursday, September 26th 2024, P.S. 5 will be going GOLD for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. The PTA, along with our Student Council, will be selling gold ribbons during both lunch periods. The ribbons will be displayed throughout the building with your child’s name on it.
If you would like to donate and purchase a gold ribbon, please send your donation in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class on it that says “Go Gold”. Whatever amount you put in the envelope will be considered the donation, as change will not be given. All donations will go to Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Mrs. Lanza. As always, thank you for all of your continued support.

Fall Cleaning!!!
We are happy to participate in a fundraiser with A&E Clothing Corp.
A&E Clothing Corp. collects items, weighs, sorts, and resells them.
P.S. 5’s 5th Grade will receive money for every pound that is collected. For more information visit: www.clothingdrive.net
ITEMS ACCEPTED
● Usable clothing for women, men, and children; all seasons
● Accessories including handbags, belts, shoes, scarves, ties, hats, gloves,
backpacks, briefcases, etc.
● Soft household items, including blankets, tablecloths, curtains, towels, sheets,
comforters, etc.
● Small Toys, 2ft or less only (i.e., dolls, action figures, trucks, and stuffed animals)
● Bikes
** PLEASE KEEP SHOES IN SEPARATE BAGS**
***PLEASE NOTE: BOOKS, VCR TAPES, CD'S, ELECTRONICS, GLASS
ITEMS, POTS/PANS, BOARD GAMES, CAR SEATS, FURNITURE,
CRIBS, OUTDOOR PLAY SETS AND SPORTS EQUIPMENT (EXCEPT
BIKES) ARE NOT ACCEPTED***
All items donated must be placed in a tightly tied plastic garbage bag.
